With a deep sense of loss we sadly acknowledge the passing of Norman Johnston on 31st August 2014.
As well as co-founding Colourpoint with his wife, Sheila, in 1993, Norman was a teacher, historian, author and active member of several organisations over the years, in several of which he served as Chairman.
He was most widely known as a transport enthusiast and his active interest in many different fields led, firstly to writing and then to publishing many books. His contribution through Colourpoint to recording primarily, but not exclusively, the transport scene in Ireland served an unmet need and will prove a memorial to his memory.
He had a particular fondness for the railways of County Fermanagh and was also a keen photographer. His last, posthumous, book will be a collection of his favourite pictures entitled 'Parting Shot' and was completed shortly before his death. It will be published within the next year.
